Playa Dorada is the gated resort complex just east of Puerto Plata city, built around the Robert Trent Jones golf course, with a single controlled entrance off the main highway. The same rate covers the neighbouring Costa Dorada pocket a couple of minutes further east, plus the condos and villas inside the complex. Coming from POP you stay on the Carretera Luperón the whole way, so this is the shortest and most predictable run we do — most arrivals are at the lobby before the bags would have come off a shuttle. Security at the Playa Dorada gate logs the vehicle and the guest name, which is why we ask for the hotel name in writing before the driver is assigned.
Resorts drop at the lobby entrance where the bellman meets the car. Condos and villas inside the complex need the unit number so the gate can log the vehicle — send it when you book.
